The fee for a home visit is from £260 depending on location and appointment time.
What happens in a consultation
A full feeding and oral assessment is carried out before any referral for tongue-tie treatment
The findings will be discussed with you as well as any risks associated with minor surgery.
You are then free to choose the treatment that is right for you. Remember that this might be a choice to have no intervention.
The best time to do consultations with babies
For tongue-tie assessment it’s helpful if the baby is a little on the hungry side so that a partial feed can be observed. This will only be done with your consent and you are not obliged to demonstrate a feed. If the tongue-tie is released surgically it helps if the baby feeds immediately afterwards (whether on breast or bottle).
Chaperones
Chaperones may be available in clinic settings but are unlikely to be available for home visits. Please let us know in advance if possible so that we can do our best to make appropriate arrangements.
Cancellations
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or appointments which are not attended will be chargeable in full.
